We will be working with lots of local guides & scouts to cover topics which are important / useful to them.
In April 2014, 28 members of Girlguiding Cheshire Forest and neighbouring counties will travel to The Gambia. They will work on a variety of community action projects.

Project T shirts are here!
Our project T shirts have arrived this week and look lovely! Exciting!
We're looking forward to giving them out to everyone at our next briefing meeting on Sunday 2nd Feb.
To jab or not to jab?
That is the question...
As always every doctor gives different advice. To add to this, there's a national shortage of yellow fever vaccine and typhoid seems hard to get too!
Hopefully everyone will get what is needed within the time we have left! Happy jab hunting!

1st Briefing
We had our first team briefing today - exciting times!!
We started with introductions then did some getting to know you and team building activities. This included a challenge to build famous places out of pasta & marshmallows - can you guess what they are?!
Then we heard about 5 potential service project options which we had a vote on. We also had 8 cultural/tourist options to vote on.
The most popular ones will be discussed with the Gunjur team then a draft timetable proposed.
If team members have the opportunity to raise additional funds, there are lots more ways we can support like buying more mosquito nets for local families.
In the meantime, the fundraising and preparations continue!

Group Meeting 19th October
Our first team meeting is fast approaching!
During this time we plan to get to know each other with a few team building activities, tell the team a little bit more about where we will be staying and what to expect in The Gambia and we will also discuss and finalise the project(s) that we would like to undertake.
A kit list will be distributed and there will also be some t-shirt samples for team members to try on so that we can start thinking about a project t-shirt for the trip.
